Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software applications across both frontend and backend technologies, ensuring functionality, scalability, and performance
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to define and refine requirements, and ensure alignment between technical solutions and business needs
  • Lead architecture and design discussions, contributing expertise and providing guidance to help drive the selection of appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools
  • Write clean, well-structured, and maintainable code, adhering to established coding standards and best practices
  • Oversee code and design reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and identifying potential risks or areas for improvement
  • Debug and resolve software defects, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact users
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including software architecture diagrams, API specifications, and user guides
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the team
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools, helping to drive innovation and keep the team up-to-date with industry trends
  • Lead the estimation, prioritization, and planning of development tasks, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry best practices, and share knowledge and insights with the team as appropriate
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, and Infrastructure as Code tools in alignment with DevSecOps principles to streamline the deployment and management of microservices and APIs on AWS.
  • Develop and deploy monitoring, logging, and performance optimization tools to ensure observability and resilience of microservices and APIs, while adhering to DevSecOps standards.
  • Lead regular security reviews, risk assessments, and vulnerability management activities to proactively identify and remediate potential threats within the microservices, APIs, and AWS infrastructure.
  • Lead and oversee the implementation and maintenance of security, compliance, and governance policies within the AWS environment to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Programming languages and frameworks:
  • Strong experience with Java, Typescript, Bash, SpringBoot, and React/Angular
  • Infrastructure as code:
  • Terraform
  • Testing tools and frameworks:
  • Experience with JUnit, jMeter, Postman/Newman, Cypress, and Jest
  • Continuous integration and deployment tools:
  • Experience with Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, Docker, feature flags
  • Cloud platforms and services:
  • Strong experience with AWS services Lambda, ECS/Fargate, RDS, DynamoDB, EventBridge, CloudFront, S3, ApiGateway, and WAF
  • AWS certifications are a plus.
